Bond denied for murder suspect

PARKERSBURG — Bond was denied this morning for the second suspect accused of killing a Parkersburg woman last month.

Kenneth Leroy McCoy, 34, appeared before Wood County Circuit Court Judge J.D. Beane. McCoy was returned to the North Central Regional Jail, accused with Jessica Nicole Roberts of the Dec. 11 murder of Penni Curtiss, 1604 Tygart St.

Bond was denied for Roberts last week.

The two were persons of interests in the killing, according to the Parkersburg Police Department. They were found in Illinois on Dec. 14 after the Flora Police Department received a complaint about panhandlers at a gas station parking lot.
