Belpre Board of Education to appoint new member on Monday
BELPRE — The Belpre Board of Education will meet Monday evening for organizational and regular meetings.
The organizational meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the regular meeting beginning after the close of the first meeting.
The meetings will be held at the Stone Administration building in Belpre. The meetings are open to the public.
During the organizational meeting, board members will take the oath of office and vote on an appointed member to fill a board vacancy. Member Bob Wallace did not seek re-election and ended his term in December.
Three individuals applied for the position, and officials say the new member will be named at Monday’s meeting.
The board also will vote on the board president and vice president, make committee appointments, and approve meeting dates for the coming year.
In the regular session, the school board will receive a Pioneer Pilots presentation from Belpre Elementary School and a Comprehensive Case Management and Employment Program presentation by Candy Nelson from the Washington County Department of Job and Family Services.
The board also will review several federal programs policies relating to parent and family involvement, homeless students and enrollment dispute resolution for homeless students.
