PARKERSBURG — Volunteers from Dominion Energy Transmission and Dominion Energy West Virginia made and distributed more than 100 no-sew fleece blankets to missions and homeless shelters in Parkersburg, Shinnston, Fairmont, Clarksburg and Bridgeport.

Locations receiving the blankets included the VA Nursing Home, Meadowdale Manor, Genesis Youth Crisis Center, Jewel City Church, women’s shelters in Parkersburg and the Fairmont Soup Kitchen.

“We take warmth seriously,” Mark Barnes, director of gas operations at Dominion Energy West Virginia, said. “It’s not just about having heat in a home; it’s the warmth that comes from caring for our neighbors in their time of need.”

This is the second year for the service project.
