Suspect arrested in Latrobe Street dispute

PARKERSBURG — A Parkersburg man was taken to the hospital Wednesday after police had to use a Taser stun gun to arrest him.

Keith Mitchell Saunders Jr., of Parkersburg, was arrested after an incident off Latrobe Street

Parkersburg Police Chief Joe Martin said the arrest stemmed from a domestic dispute. At around 3 p.m. Wednesday Saunders was at the home an uncle who has a restraining order against him.

“Saunders showed up at his uncle’s house” Martin said. “He’s afraid of Saunders and Saunders wanted to fight him. The uncle pulls a .22-caliber and fires into the ground to scare him away.”

Martin said Saunders fled when police arrived.

There were active warrants on Saunders for driving with a revoked or suspended license for DUI and leaving the scene of an accident.

Police located Saunders after a short foot pursuit and had to use a stun gun to arrest him.

He was taken to Camden Clark Medical Center. It was not known if has been released or arraigned on the charges in magistrate court. Saunders also faces a new charge for fleeing on foot.
