Pedestrian struck by car in Parkersburg
PARKERSBURG — A pedestrian was hit by a car while crossing Fifth Street in Parkersburg Thursday afternoon.
Betty Brown, 44, no address available, was crossing the street from the area of Tim Hortons when she was struck by a car driven by Teresa Wells, 54, of Belpre, said Parkersburg Police Sgt. W.J. Cox. Wells was southbound on Fifth Street. Police received the call at 3:29 p.m.
Witnesses said Brown was almost hit by vehicles traveling northbound on Fifth Street before she then darted in front of Wells’s vehicle, Cox said. Wells had no time to stop to avoid hitting Brown, Cox said.
No citation was issued.
Brown was transported to Camden Clark Medical Center, where her condition was unavailable.
