BELPRE — The Belpre Board of Education is accepting applications for a soon-to-be vacant board seat.

In November, four of the five incumbent board members were elected or re-elected to the board. Board member Bob Wallace did not run, so his seat will be vacant beginning in 2018.

Board President Fred Meredith announced Monday the board would accept applications for the open seat through Nov. 30. Applications can be dropped off or mailed to the district office at 2014 Rockland Ave., Belpre, OH, 45714.

Superintendent Tony Dunn said there is no form needed to apply.

“Just send in a resume,” he said.

Meredith said board members hope to make the appointment before the end of December. The new member would begin his or her term in January.

Board members Brenda Church and Cathy O’Donnell were originally appointed to the board in 2016, and will serve out the unexpired terms ending Dec. 31, 2019, as a result of the Nov. 7 election.
