Parkersburg Utility Board approves sales agreement

PARKERSBURG — The Parkersburg Utility Board on Wednesday approved a sales agreement of a building on Staunton Avenue.

The board earlier accepted a $155,000 proposal from Zak Hooper to buy the former water maintenance and meter shop at 1900 Staunton Ave. The nearly 12,000-square-foot building sits on a 2.5-acre lot.

Hooper plans to put an electronics store in the building. Because the business is located in a R-3 residential zone, a variance will be required from the Board of Zoning Appeals.
