Parkersburg auto accident sends one to hospital

PARKERSBURG — One person was transported to Camden Clark Medical Center after a two-car accident at the intersection of Sixth Avenue and Neal Street on Wednesday.

Parkersburg Police Sgt. W.J. Cox said at about 5:49 p.m. Wednesday, a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Eric Watkins, 22, of Parkersburg, was traveling west on Sixth Avenue when he failed to stop for a stop sign and collided with a 2016 Ford Fusion driven by Tina Fain, 56, of Washington, W.Va. Fain was traveling south on Neal Street.

Cox said Watkins was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign and no proof of insurance. Fain was transported to Camden Clark Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Watkins refused transport to the hospital.
