Gov. Justice calls special legislative session
CHARLESTON — Gov. Jim Justice has called the Legislature into special session beginning noon Monday.
The Legislature will consider two bills exempting military retirement from state personal income tax and increasing the amount of credit allowed against personal and corporation net income taxes for qualified historic rehabilitation expenditures, Justice said.
The special session coincides with the regularly scheduled interim meetings beginning on Sunday and ending on Tuesday.
Mike Hall, the governor’s chief of staff, said another bill about the Department of Transportation hiring policies is being written and may be presented to the Legislature next week.
