Wood County Board of Education meets tonight

PARKERSBURG – Recognitions and presentations are on the agenda of the Wood County Board of Education which meets 6:30 p.m. today at 13th and Plum streets.

The meeting is open to the public.

The board will hear a presentation on the Wood County Teacher of the Year Mary Blaker by Brian Raitz of the Teacher of the Year Committee.

The board also will hear a proclamation from Gov. Jim Justice declaring Sept. 25 as West Virginia School Service Personnel Day.

Curriculum Director Christie Willis will present information on a donation to Wood County Schools from the Books-A-Million Book Drive.

Mary Ann Laughery of Community Bank will present information on the bank’s anti-bullying campaign and speaker in Wood County middle schools.

The board also will have time for public comment. All those wishing to speak must submit comment cards prior to the start of the meeting at 6:30 p.m.
