West Virginia University at Parkersburg schedules domestic violence program
PARKERSBURG — In recognition of domestic violence awareness month, West Virginia University at Parkersburg will provide the program “That’s Abuse Too” with speaker Jereme Ford on Oct. 2 from 11 a.m. to noon in the college theater.
A book signing will follow the event. Ford is a domestic violence therapist and child abuse investigator for the state of Florida.
Ford is the author of several books about developing introspective and positive thinking patterns, including “The ONE: A Single Ladies’ Guide” and “Wear YES on Your Heart.” He is visiting the college to speak to students, faculty and staff about catching abuse early and recognizing the difference between healthy and toxic relationships.
“My goal in life is to share my scars so that people see their wounds can heal too,” said Ford.
