Athens County man sentenced for sex crimes
ATHENS — A man from The Plains was sentenced to prison on Wednesday for convictions of rape and other sex crimes, the Athens County prosecuting attorney said.
Scott Allen Douglas II, 20, of The Plains appeared before Judge Patrick J. Lang. Douglas was found guilty of two counts of rape, first-degree felonies, and five counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, felonies of the fourth degree.
Lang sentenced Douglas to a mandatory term of 10 years in prison. Upon his release from prison, Douglas will be subject to five years of community control and mandatory post-release control.
Lang also ordered Douglas to be classified as a Tier III sex offender, requiring registration and verification every 90 days for life.
The case was investigated by the Athens County sheriff and Athens County Children Services.
