Members of the Parkersburg High School Class of 1967 kicked off their 50th reunion weekend with a reception at Dils Park in Vienna Friday. Class members joined in a salute to class members who are veterans with a 21-gun salute by the American Legion Post 15 honor guard and the playing of “Taps” by Christopher Dearth, a PHS alumnus. There were three memorial wreaths in honor of class members who have died. Organizers said there were 315 people in attendance at the reception and of those, 255 were class members. The Class of 1967, with 1,056 graduates, was the last class to graduate before the opening of Parkersburg South High School. Today’s activities include a morning tour of Parkersburg High School and a dinner at the Grand Pointe Conference Center in Vienna.
