Union Valley Bluegrass to perform

PARKERSBURG –Union Valley Bluegrass will be the featured performer at the Artsbridge Summer Music in the Park concert series 7 p.m. today at the City Park bandeshell.

Union Valley is from the Mid-Ohio Valley and performs a variety of bluegrass from traditional to music by Alison Krauss and The Eagles.

The band also performs original songs.

It has performed at the Bob Evans Farm Festival, the Wheeling Jamboree, WOUB Radio and bluegrass festivals and homecomings in the area. In 2012, it received a first place in the Ariel Theater Bluegrass Competition in Gallipolis.

Band members are: Eric Chichester, guitar and vocals; Gene Burgy, mandolin and vocals; Danny Murry, banjo; Rebecca McClung, fiddle and vocals; and Rhonda Strahler, bass and vocals.

The Summer Music series is hosted by Artsbridge and today’s performance is sponsored by Raber Law Offices. The concert is free and open to all.

Donations will be accepted to benefit Artsbridge Arts in Education programs for schools in the Mid-Ohio Valley.

The group will perform at Parkersburg City Park in the band shell. In case of rain, the concert will be relocated to the Horseshoe Pit Shelter.
