Suspect sought in Parkersburg kidnapping attempt
PARKERSBURG — The Parkersburg Police Department are still searching for a suspect who was allegedly involved in a kidnapping attempt last week.
The police are still trying to locate Glennell Dorsett for her part in an incident that took place on July 7, officials said Sunday.
The Parkersburg Police Department on Friday arrested Quincy Alex Lewis, 32, of Parkersburg, on a charge of kidnapping. A video of the alleged incident was posted on social media on the same day of the incident.
The video showed Lewis and a female identified as Dorsett approach the victim in a laundromat located at 1508 St. Marys Ave. The two confronted the victim and pulled the victim to the ground by her hair and then kicked her in the face. The arrestee demanded the victim to leave the business and get into his vehicle, a release from the Parkersburg Police Department said.
Once the victim complied with the demands of the arrestee and left the laundromat, the police were called. Uniformed officers located the suspects and the victim a short distance away from the laundromat and identified all involved.
The case was assigned for further investigation and information and statements were obtained to allow detectives to obtain a warrant for the arrest of Lewis, the press release said.
Lewis was taken into custody without incident on Friday at approximately 9:30 p.m. after uniformed officers went to his residence at 1122 Lynn St., Parkersburg. Lewis was taken to Parkersburg Police Department for normal booking procedures and later taken before Wood County Magistrate Joe Kuhl for his initial court appearance.
Lewis remains in custody without bail until he is arraigned in Wood County Circuit Court.
Detectives are currently looking for Dorsett and anyone who may know her whereabouts is asked to contact the Parkersburg Police Department at 304-424-8444, visit the department webpage at parkersburgpolice.com, or the department Facebook page to provide this information.
