Pipe breaks, PHS dismisses students early
PARKERSBURG — A water line break at Parkersburg High School is causing some students to be dismissed early today and others to be moved to the Field House.
Assistant Superintendent Mike Fling said a water line in a crawlspace broke around 1 p.m. today, cutting off water to the main building.
“We are dismissing students that can be picked up or drive,” he said. “We’re going to move the rest of the students into the Field House,” which still has water and working bathrooms.
Fling said there has been no damage to the building and those students who remain at the school will be released on a regular schedule. A message was sent to parents via the school system’s phone messenger system.
