Video lottery cafe robbery suspect sought
PARKERSBURG — Police are searching for a man accused of robbing La Cafe, a video lottery parlor on Murdoch Avenue.
The white male entered the establishment at 2715 Murdoch Ave. around 11:55 p.m. Tuesday, Parkersburg Police Chief Joe Martin said. He handed the clerk a note and demanded money. The clerk believed the man was armed, the chief said.
“He didn’t say that he had a weapon; he didn’t brandish a weapon, but he stuck his hand in his pocket,” Martin said. “The interpretation from the victim was that he did have a weapon.”
The clerk gave the suspect cash and he fled the scene, Martin said.
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5 feet, 8 inches tall, with dark-rimmed glasses and a goatee. He walks with a distinct limp. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a cream-colored sweatshirt, blue jeans and tennis shoes, Martin said.
The suspect is considered to be armed and dangerous, Martin said.
