The Children’s Chorus will begin with its traditional processional “Jubilate Deo” from the 17th century and will continue with many seasonal favorites and multi-cultural selections, such as the Puerto Rican “A La Media Noche” the French carol “Noel Nouvelet,” a medley of African folk songs called “An African Celebration” and Dan Forrest’s arrangement of the Scottish song “What Strangers Are These?”

The Girls Ensemble will present “There Is Faint Music” by Dan Forrest, “Be Glad This Festive Day” and “Jing Jingle Bells” by Douglas Wagner.

The Boys Ensemble will present “The Virgin Mary Had a Baby Boy,” “Coventry Carol,” “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” and “O Magnum Mysterium” by Evan Ramos.

The featured soloist is Jesse Eaton. Guest instrumentalists are percussionist Jeff Edman, guitarist Robert Coddington and flutist Melissa Herceg. All the choirs will combine to sing “A Wreath of Carols” and will close the concert with the traditional “O Come, All Ye Faithful” featuring organist Jane Irvine. The STCC is an auditioned choir of 33 fourth, fifth and sixth graders from the Mid-Ohio Valley who meet for weekly rehearsals and music instruction by the staff: director Barbara Full, accompanist Marsha Parsons and Smoot Director Felice Jorgeson.
