Kelleyn McClain leaves Wood County senior center
No reason given for departure
PARKERSBURG — The Wood County Senior Citizen Association is without an executive director again.
The association and former Executive Director Kelleyn McClain recently parted ways. This is the second time in just over a year that the association has been in search of a new executive director.
Association Board President Karyl L. Krulicki declined to talk about the situation, saying it was a “confidential personnel matter.”
She also declined to comment on when McClain left.
”We formed a search committee (Tuesday) to look for a new excutive director,” Krulicki said.
The Wood County Senior Citizen Association Board will be placing advertisements in local publications soon about the vacant position, she said.
McClain was named as the executive director around June 2015, replacing Mike Dennis. Officials did not discuss then why the association and Dennis parted ways.
Shortly after taking over, McClain said she was interested in taking the Market Street senior center into “different and fresh directions” while addressing the needs of local seniors.
McClain could not be reached for comment Wednesday.
Krulicki said the board is working on an agreement to name an interim director until a permanent replacement can be hired.
