Man charged after domestic violence call
MARIETTA – A Washington County man was arrested Sunday on charges involving alleged domestic violence and abduction.
Washington County Sheriff Larry Mincks said deputies were dispatched about 9:10 a.m. Sunday to 235 Johnson Road, Warren Twp., Washington County, Ohio, in reference to a domestic violence and abduction which had occurred at 40 Hanover Road, Cutler, at approximately 5 a.m. Sunday.
Upon arrival, Glenna Santee, 22, 235 Johnson Road, stated her boyfriend, Phillip Zachariah Singer, 24, 40 Hanover Road, Cutler, had punched her multiple times in the face with his closed fists. Santee had multiple facial injuries including both of her eyes and the right side of her face were bruised and swollen. She had multiple bruises on both sides of her neck, Mincks said.
Santee stated they became involved in an argument when Singer started punching her. She attempted to leave the room, but Singer would not allow her to exit the bedroom. Santee said she pleaded with Singer multiple times to let her go, but he physically restrained her and kept her captive. Santee stated Singer pushed her back onto the bed, held her arms and continued to punch her in the face with his closed fist. Santee said she later “passed out” on the bed and was awakened a couple hours later by a friend, Mincks said.
Singer fled the scene but was later arrested without incident walking down Coffman Road. He was charged with domestic violence and felony abduction. He is incarcerated in the Washington County Jail pending an appearance in Marietta Municipal Court.
