Ritchie teacher charged with sexually abusing student
A special education teacher at Ritchie County High School has been charged with sexually abusing a student.
David Peter Weekley, 43, of 2323 Gnats Run Road, Pennsboro, was arrested today on first- and second-degree counts of sexual abuse and two counts of sexual abuse by a parent/custodian, according to a release from the West Virginia State Police.
A male student at the school reported on Feb. 7 that in December of 2013 Weekley performed a sex act on him in a closet at the school. The next month, Weekley allegedly fondled the student in an empty room at the school.
Weekley was arraigned in Ritchie County Magistrate Court today and released after posting a $100,000 bond.
