News and Sentinel teams up with Go Mart

PARKERSBURG – Local readers can fuel their brain when they fuel their vehicle as The Parkersburg News and Sentinel again joins 15 area Go Marts to offer a free newspaper when customers buy at least eight gallons of gasoline.

The promotion begins Saturday at any of the 15 area Go Mart locations. The offer applies to all editions of The Parkersburg News and Sentinel, Marietta A.M. and The Marietta Times, according to newspaper Circulation Manager Joe Tranquill.

The promotion will give customers a chance to stay informed while offering Go Mart a chance to spotlight to its pay-at-the-pump customers everything it has to offer inside the stores.

A similar promotion last year resulted in more than 100,000 customers who purchased fuel also getting a free newspaper.

“The newspaper is a vital part of our community, connecting its people with the most comprehensive local news while at the same time saving consumers money through the ads and coupons that are included in the newspaper,” Tranquill said.

The promotion will last four months.

“It’s a win-win for everyone,” said Terry Smith, director of marketing for the gasoline and convenience store chain.

The promotion is among the most successful, she said.

“We’re really glad to offer this to our customers again,” Smith said.

The newspaper is pleased to participate, too.

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to share everything the newspaper offers to residents that may not be regular readers of the newspaper,” said Jim Spanner, publisher of The News and Sentinel. “We are confident that once they see everything the newspaper has to offer, they will make it a regular part of their lives.”
