Waverly man sought after weekend bar fight

PARKERSBURG -The Wood County Sheriff’s Department is seeking a Wood County man who allegedly assaulted two men in a bar fight over the weekend.

Jason Allen Baldwin, 31, of Waverly is being sought by the sheriff’s department after he allegedly assaulted two men, sending one to the hospital with serious facial injuries.

Wood County Chief Deputy Shawn Graham said Baldwin is accused of assaulting Brian Greene, 52, and 31-year-old Zachary Miller outside the Old Corral Bar and Grille, off Camden Avenue, early Sunday morning.

According to Graham, officers were called to the bar just after 3:30 a.m. Management had closed the bar and was attempting to get Baldwin to leave.

“He was not being cooperative,” Graham said.

Baldwin got into an altercation with Green outside the bar, when Miller attempted to intervene.

“When he tried to break up the fight, with Baldwin being the problem party, (Baldwin) assaulted Miller,” Graham said. Miller was knocked unconscious, by Baldwin, suffering severe facial injuries, including some broken teeth. He was transported to Camden Clark Medical Center by ambulance. Greene, Graham said, declined medical attention.

Graham said according to witnesses when Baldwin saw sheriff’s deputies approaching the scene, he fled. Baldwin remains at large.

“He is being sought and we do anticipate criminal charges,” Graham said. “The case remains under investigation.”
