Student’s threats prompt PHS lockdown

PARKERSBURG – Parkersburg High School was placed on lockdown this morning after a student sent classmates threatening texts and a picture of a gun.

Wood County Schools Assistant Superintendent Mike Fling said initial reports of a suspect at the school with a weapon were incorrect. A PHS student allegedly sent threats and a photo of a gun via text to two students. Officials locked down PHS as a precaution while the suspect was located.

Fling said the suspect was in police custody around 10:50 a.m.. The lockdowns at Parkersburg High School was canceled around 10:47 this morning.
