Police in Vienna arrest couple on drug charges

VIENNA – Vienna police arrested a Parkersburg couple Monday on drug charges following a traffic stop.

Christopher A. Williams, 28, and Tambrie T. Williams, 20, both of 1123 Lynn St., Apt. 2, Parkersburg, were arraigned in Wood County Magistrate Court on Monday evening on one felony count each of possession with intent to deliver crack-cocaine and possession with intent to deliver heroin.

The bond for both was set at $300,000 and both were taken to the North Central Regional Jail.

Vienna Police Chief George M. Young said that about 2:11 p.m. Monday, Officer J.A. Cole conducted a traffic stop on Woodland Drive in Vienna on a 1997 Mercedes Benz due to a traffic infraction. He identified the driver as Christopher Williams, who did not have a valid driver’s license. The passenger was identified as his wife, Tambrie Williams.

Cole and other Vienna officers ultimately conducted a search of the vehicle which yielded a loaded .32 caliber revolver, 13 bags of suspected heroin, a bag of suspected crack/cocaine, two bags of suspected marijuana, 16 different kinds of prescription medication, digital scales, packaging and $710.50 in U.S. currency, Young said.

Each charge carries a possible penalty of one to 15 years in prison. The street value of the heroin was estimated at approximately $2,500 and the crack-cocaine at $600, Young said.
