Belpre woman killed in car crash

MARIETTA – A woman was killed in a single-car crash Monday night in Washington County, the Marietta Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

Alisha Hurst, 26, Belpre, was killed when the car she was driving failed to make a sharp turn on Washington County 56, in Adams Township, the patrol said.

The car, a 2000 Toyota Corolla, went down a steep hill, struck a rock then came to rest on its top in a shallow creek, the patrol said.

Hurst was pronounced dead at the scene, the patrol said.

Two passengers were taken to Marietta Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Tucker Hurst, 27, and Kylee Hurst, 3, also of Belpre, the patrol said.

Alcohol or drugs are believed to have been a factor in the crash, the patrol said. All occupants were wearing seatbelts, the patrol said.

The L-A Volunteer Fire Department also responded. The accident happened about 10:15 p.m. Monday.
