Two arrested in connection to prostitution

ATHENS, Ohio – Two people were arrested Friday after deputies learned a 16-year-old was allegedly forced into prostitution, police said.

The Athens County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant on 13639 Rocky Point Road, Athens, Ohio, as part of an investigation into prostitution and trafficking in persons.

Sheriff Pat Kelly said Detective John Deak began working with case workers from Child Protective Services after receiving information on Sept. 23 a 16-year-old girl was being used as a prostitute in exchange for money and drugs.

On Sept. 27, Aileen Mays, 27, Binder Basin Road, Glouster, Ohio, was interviewed by detectives and charged with compelling prostitution and trafficking in persons. She was held on a $50,000 bond.

Mays allegedly confessed to detectives she set meetings between Fred Kittle Sr., 69, Rocky Point Road, Athens, and the 16-year-old girl for exchanging sexual acts for drugs, police said.

Police said Kittle is a convicted and registered sexual offender in Athens County.

During the search warrant, evidence was collected at Kittle residence. The juvenile is now safe and in the care of children’s services, officials said. Kittle was charged with compelling prostitution and importuning.

Both were transported to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail.
