Structure fire under investigation
PARKERSBURG – An investigation is still continuing into a structure fire that occurred Saturday evening in south Parkersburg.
The Parkersburg Fire Department was dispatched just after 9 p.m. Saturday to 1218 Camden Ave. in response to a fire at a two-story home, said Lt. T.C. Werry of the Parkersburg Fire Department.
“Flames were showing when crews arrived,” Werry said.
Crews were conducting an interior attack when it was determined the structure was not stable and crews were moved out and firefighters brought the blaze under control with an exterior attack. Due to the unstable nature of the structure, crews remained on scene until 10 a.m. Sunday in case something reignited.
The home was unoccupied. A damage amount was not available, but Werry said there was “extensive” damage to the home.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated. No injuries were reported.
