Woman arrested for malicious wounding

PARKERSBURG – City police arrested a Parkersburg woman Tuesday night on a felony charge of malicious wounding.

Brooke A. Morris, 18, of 4113 14th Ave., Parkersburg, was arrested after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend, Samuel Howe, 19, in the left leg/hip area with a knife, police said.

A criminal complaint filed in Wood County Magistrate Court alleged that on or about Aug. 13 Morris was involved in an altercation with her boyfriend. During the altercation, Morris produced a knife at which time her boyfriend attempted to disarm her, police said.

When Howe tried to take the knife away, Morris stabbed him with it, police said.

Howe was taken to Camden Clark Medical Center, where he received treatment for his stab wound, which was non-life threatening, officials said.

Morris was arraigned in magistrate court and failed to post a $75,000 bond. Police said she was transported to the North Central Regional Jail Wednesday.
