Officer injured in traffic accident

PARKERSBURG – A collision between a Parkersburg Police Department cruiser and a civilian vehicle this morning sent at least one person to the hospital.

The accident happened around 10:30 a.m. in the 3400 block of Murdoch Ave. Scanner traffic indicated Parkersburg High School Prevention Resource Officer Dan Miller was involved in the collision. Sgt. Greg Collins said an officer was involved in a foot pursuit and Miller was responding to a call for assistance when the collision occurred.

A 911 dispatcher said there was at least one injury reported, but no further details were immediately available.
