Braun sentenced for assault, auto theft
MARIETTA – A Vincent man was sentenced Friday to nine months in prison for beating up an acquaintance and stealing the man’s car.
Washington County Common Pleas Judge Randall Burnworth sentenced Jeremy R. Braun, 29, of 1080 Walsh Road, Vincent, to nine months in the Orient Correctional Center and three years of post-release control.
A Washington County grand jury indicted Braun Dec. 5 on a second-degree felony count and a first-degree misdemeanor count of assault.
Braun already had served 35 days in jail while awaiting sentencing.
He made no statement during the brief hearing.
Burnworth said Braun is responsible for court costs, which can be paid by him through a job or community service.
He also told Braun he could be returned to prison at any time for any violation of his post-release control.
