Woman arrested after hitting cruiser

ATHENS – An Athens woman was arrested Sunday after running into a deputy’s cruiser, police said.

Tracy Jack, 36, 6110 Angle Ridge Road, was getting into her 1999 Dodge Durango as an Athens County sheriff’s deputy pulled into the driveway concerning a domestic dispute at 11 Hartman Road, The Plains.

The deputy blew her air horn. When Jack discovered Deputy Jen Atkins, in an attempt to flee, she put her vehicle into reverse and accelerated at a high speed, ramming the front end of the deputy’s cruiser.

Atkins ordered Jack out of the vehicle and took her into custody.

She was charged with felonious assault and vandalism. Jack’s bond was set at $55,000, and she was in custody at the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail, according to court records.

At the time of her arrest, Jack was on parole for credit card misuse.
