Ritchie County man arrested in death of father

PENNSBORO – A Ritchie County man is in the North Central Regional Jail after he was charged with first-degree murder Saturday.

West Virginia State Police 1st Sgt. Mike Baylous said Steven Andrew Fisher, 22, of Pennsboro, was arrested after state police responded to calls about shots fired at 702 E. Penn Ave., Pennsboro, at about 9:24 p.m. Saturday.

Police said Fisher and his father, Michael Clarence Ogle, 51, were in an argument when Fisher went upstairs to his room, got a .357 caliber gun and allegedly shot his father.

Baylous said when troopers arrived on the scene they found Fisher sitting on the porch and he was detained.

Ogle was found inside the house and had been shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Fisher was charged with first-degree murder.
