Police arrest 2 men on drug charges

PARKERSBURG – The Parkersburg Police Department arrested two Parkersburg men on drug charges Saturday night, officials said.

Clinton Wesley Buffington, 35, 1312 14th St., and Jason Ryan Sams, 19, 1807 Beaver St., were arrested on felony charges of operating or attempting to operate a clandestine drug laboratory.

Police said officers stopped a vehicle near 16th Street and St. Marys Avenue for multiple violations around 6:45 p.m. Saturday. A Parkersburg police canine was called to the scene.

Upon indication from the canine, officers allegedly discovered a “Shake and Bake” methamphetamine lab inside the vehicle. The Parkersburg Narcotics Task Force was summoned to assist with the investigation and process the scene.

The two men were arraigned in Wood County Magistrate Court and taken to the North Central Regional Jail. Buffington is being held on a $75,000 bond while Sams is being held on a $45,000 bond.
