McClure promoted to COO at Camden Clark

PARKERSBURG – David McClure, vice president of operations at Camden Clark Medical Center, has been appointed the executive vice president-chief operation officer at the medical center.

“David’s knowledge and expertise on hospital operations has more than qualified him for this position,” said CEO and President Mike King.

McClure is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, a past regent for the state of West Virginia and president-elect for the state chapter of A.C.H.E.

Prior to coming to Camden Clark in 2008, he was an associate administrator at Ohio Valley Medical Center in Wheeling where he was responsible for the day-to-day operations for the acute care hospital.

In addition, McClure began his health care career as a Navy corpsman and advanced his clinical skills to the level of a certified physician assistant providing patient care in hospital-based and private-physician practices.

McClure has a doctorate in health care administration from Stafford University in London, a master’s of science from Cardinal Stritch University’s College of Business and Management at Milwaukee and a bachelor’s in medical science from Alderson-Broaddus College at Philippi, W.Va.

King is the previous COO and served in that capacity from 2000 to 2007 when he succeeded Tom Corder as CEO and president.
