Truck strikes bike rider, sending him to hospital

PARKERSBURG – A man riding a bike was transported to the hospital after he was hit by a truck while crossing a Parkersburg parking lot.

Parkersburg Police Sgt. Matt Board said Tommy Wolfe, age and address unknown, was struck by a juvenile driving a truck on the parking lot at 1602 St. Marys Ave. at about 6 p.m. Thursday. Board said reports indicate the juvenile backed out of a parking space at a high rate of speed striking Wolfe as he rode across the lot. Board said the juvenile was cited for reckless driving.

Wolfe was incapacitated after the accident and was transported to Camden Clark Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
