Three cases heard in circuit court

PARKERSBURG – Three cases were heard in Wood County Circuit Court Wednesday.

* Burnell Brown III, 23, in custody at the North Central Regional Jail, admitted to allegations in the petition to revoke his probation. Judge J.D. Beane sentenced him to serve the remainder of his sentence imposed Feb. 7, 2013, when he was sentenced to one to five years in prison with credit for 23 days served, suspended for three years probation.

Brown pleaded guilty by way of a plea agreement to a charge of delivery of a controlled substance, cocaine, within 1,000 feet of an elementary school. A second charge of delivery of a controlled substance, cocaine, within 1,000 feet of an elementary school was dismissed as part of the plea agreement. He was indicted by the January 2012 grand jury.

* Jonathan Evan Valentine, 33, 506 34th St., Apt. 4, Vienna, was arraigned on an indictment from the May grand jury. He was indicted on two counts of delivery of a controlled substance, heroin. He entered a not guilty plea and his trial was set for Aug. 13. He was granted a motion to release him back to bond.

* Brian David Wise, 26, in custody at the North Central Regional Jail, was denied a motion to reduce his bond. Beane denied the motion, leaving his bond at $10,000. He was indicted by the May 2013 grand jury on four counts of delivery of a controlled substance.
