Steve Shelene looking forward to City Park rock n’ roll concert

PARKERSBURG – Steve Shelene of Vienna is looking forward to his first music performance in Parkersburg.

Shelene plays the guitar and sings with Rick K. and The Allnighters, an American rock ‘n’ roll show band based in Morgantown.

The six-member band will be performing at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Parkersburg City Park bandshell as part of Artsbridge’s Summer Music Series.

The concert is part of West Virginia’s 150th anniversary celebration.

Rick K. and The Allnighters plays hit music from the 1950s to the present, said Shelene, a 2002 graduate of Parkersburg High School.

The band has recently returned from a three-week tour in Michigan and Minnesota, where it performed five nights a week, four shows a night.

“I have always wanted to play in Parkersburg,” Shelene said Tuesday.

The band has performed at the Ohio River Sternwheel Festival in Marietta.

Shelene has been a member of Rick K. and The Allnighters for four years.

The band played in Russia last year.
