Motorcyclist injured in two-vehicle crash

PARKERSBURG – A motorcycle driver was sent to the hospital after a two-vehicle accident Tuesday night, officials said.

The accident occurred at 6:10 p.m. in the 1000 block of Harris Highway in Belleville. Wood County Sheriff’s Office, Lubeck Volunteer Fire Department and St. Joseph’s Ambulance Services responded to the crash.

Adam Kinzy, 32, of Belleville was driving a Suzuski motorcycle southbound on Harris Highway when Gregory Flinn, 47, of Belleville failed to yield to the cycle, police said.

Police said Flinn was crossing the road from his mailbox to his driveway at the time of the incident. Kinzy was transported to Camden Clark Medical Center for apparent minor injuries, police said.

Deputy Mike Winland said the crash caused the roadway to be closed for almost one hour. The road opened up to traffic around 7 p.m., he said.

Winland said no citations were issued Tuesday night and the accident is under investigation.
