Traffic accidents keep officials busy
PARKERSBURG – Three separate accidents took place across the Mid-Ohio Valley on Sunday afternoon, officials said.
An accident on Old St. Mary’s Pike took place around 4 p.m. on Sunday.
Another accident on Interstate 77 near the 166 milepost occurred around 2:30 p.m., officials said. The accident, between the Rockport and Mineral Wells exits, involved a tractor trailer and vehicle, officials said. The accident did not leave anyone seriously injured although several patients were transported, a dispatcher with the Wood County 911 Center said.
A one-vehicle accident around 3:30 p.m. near the Rockport exit (milemarker 161) caused one 57-year-old female to experience neck pains, reports said. The vehicle, driven by the female, hit a tree after going over the embankment, officials said.
No further information on the crash investigations was immediately available.
Officials said the Mineral Wells and Waverly Volunteer fire departments assisted in clean-up efforts.
The Wood County Sheriff’s Office is investigating all three collisions.
