Six cases heard in circuit court

PARKERSBURG – Four people named as co-defendants by the January 2013 grand jury appeared Tuesday in Wood County Circuit Court.

Jessica Nicole Vannoy, 20, and Ronald L. Corbin, 30, both in custody at the North Central Regional Jail, Gabriella A. Calloway, 21, 3313 Smith St., Parkersburg, and Monica Marie McMurray, 20, 1509 Crescent St., Parkersburg, were all named as co-defendants by the grand jury.

Vannoy was arraigned on two counts each of fraudulent use of an access device and conspiracy to commit fraudulent use of an access device and one count each of forgery, conspiracy to commit forgery, uttering and conspiracy to commit uttering. She entered a plea of innocent to the charges and her trial was set for June 12 before Judge Robert Waters.

Corbin entered a plea agreement to plead guilty to an uttering charge. Waters set his plea for 9 a.m. June 26.

Calloway pleaded guilty to a bill of information charging her with receiving or transferring stolen goods. Her sentencing was set by Waters for 10 a.m. June 26 and is free on bond to await sentencing.

McMurray was granted a motion to move her trial to the May court term and her trial was set for June 12. She was indicted on four counts of uttering and one count each of burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, unlawful entry, conspiracy to commit unlawful entry, grand larceny, conspiracy to commit grand larceny, forgery, conspiracy to commit forgery, uttering, and conspiracy to commit uttering.

Other hearings Tuesday:

  • Lindsey Sherman Tibbs, 34, in custody at the North Central Regional Jail, was granted a motion by Judge J.D. Beane to move his trial to the May court term. His trial date was set for June 25. He was indicted by the January 2013 grand jury on charges of malicious assault and unlawful assault.
  • Doyle M. Scarberry, 22, 1133 Market St., Apt. 203, Parkersburg, was granted a motion to continue his trial to the May court term and the new date will be set during the arraignments for the May grand jury indictments. He was indicted on charges of first-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery, malicious assault and conspiracy to commit malicious assault.
