Crews clear space for AutoZone
PARKERSBURG – Another national chain auto parts store is opening another store in Parkersburg, according to city officials.
AutoZone is slated to open a new store on Seventh Street in the coming months. Mayor Bob Newell said the company got permits for the store several months ago.
Tuesday, demolition crews started knocking down three structures to make room for the AutoZone store.
The store will be adjacent to the Der Dog Haus Pub and Grill. There are three Auto Zone stores in the area, two in Parkersburg and another in Belpre. O’Reilly Auto Parts opened two stores in Parkersburg.
There are also three Advance Auto Parts stores in Parkersburg.
According to its website, AutoZone is the nation’s leading retailer and distributor of automotive replacement parts and accessories. The company, which opened its first store in Forrest City, Ark., in 1979, has more than 5,000 stories in the U.S., Puerto Rico and Mexico.
