Woman involved in Monday crash dies
ATHENS – A woman died at a Morgantown hospital from injuries in a two-car accident Monday on Ohio 7 at the Athens and Meigs county line, according to the Ohio Highway Patrol Athens Post.
Dorothy Kroegel, 62, Reedsville, died at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown on Wednesday, the patrol said.
She was driving a 2000 Nissan Quest north on Ohio 7 when a 2003 Mazda driven by Richard Spiker, 60, of Centerville, Ohio, attempted to turn onto a township road, the patrol said. The two cars collided, the patrol said.
Spiker was not injured, the patrol said. Kroegel was taken to the St. Joseph’s Campus of Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg, then transferred to Ruby, the patrol said.
The accident happened shortly before 10 a.m., the patrol said.
No citations were issued. The accident remains under investigation.
