Wash. man arrested in connection with Roane County murder

SPENCER – Police in Washington state made a second arrest in the overdose death of Renee Honaker.

Police arrested Chad Renzelman, 32, of Kennewick, Wash., Friday and charged him with first-degree murder and delivery of a controlled substance. A spokeswoman for the Benton County, Wash., Superior Court clerk said Renzelman waived extradition in a court hearing Monday.

Renzelman is expected to be extradited to West Virginia within the next 10 days.

On Tuesday, Todd Honaker, husband of Renee Honaker, appeared before Roane County Magistrate Ronald White. According to court records, Honaker waived a preliminary hearing on charges of first-degree murder and delivery of a controlled substance, LSD.

Police said the Honakers were using acid Friday night. Todd Honaker said Renee fell to the ground and started convulsing, police said. She was rushed to the hospital, where she died.

Police said Renzelman mailed LSD to Todd Honaker, who gave the drugs to Renee, which killed her.

Police said the two men apparently knew each other from college.
