Two arrests made in traffic stop

BOAZ – Wood County sheriff’s deputies made two arrests following a traffic stop Friday near Boaz.

Michael Scott Brian, 29, of Williamstown was arrested on a DUI charge while the passenger in his vehicle Brianna Lynn Salyers, 19, was arrested on felony charges.

Brian was driving while impaired on Williams Highway near the intersection of River Road in Boaz when he was stopped by deputies, according to police. He was processed into the Wood County Holding Center around 4:20 a.m., officials said.

Salyers is charged with being a fugitive from justice out of Morgan County, Ohio. She was wanted on felony charges of aggravated trafficking in drugs, two counts of illegal manufacturing of drugs and illegal possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs. She was placed into the holding center around 3:50 a.m., officials said.

Brian was scheduled for arraignment in Wood County Magistrate Court Friday, while Salyers will be arraigned before a Wood County Circuit Court judge pending extradition proceedings to Ohio.
