Police find meth lab, arrest men

BOAZ – Multiple drugs and drug paraphernalia were discovered in Boaz Friday, police said.

The Parkersburg Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant on lot 124 at the Shawnee Trailer Court in Boaz.

The task force agents received information from neighbors about a strong chemical odor coming from the residence. Agents conducted surveillance of the home over several days and obtained a search warrant.

Once in the home, agents could immediately smell an extremely strong chemical odor discovered to be an active methamphetamine cook, officials said.

Gary Martin Hall, 124 Onward Road, Williamstown, and Michael Dale Cain, 1634 Winding Road, Parkersburg, were located in the home and taken into custody.

Hall and Cain were decontaminated and transported to the Wood County Holding Center on felony charges of operating a clandestine laboratory. Their bond was set at $50,000. They were unable to post bond, officials said.

Agents ventilated the residence for more than an hour with the assistance of the Williamstown Volunteer Fire Department before an investigation could take place, officers said. The task force located numerous items in the home commonly used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine, officials said.

Police spent about three hours processing the scene, according to reports.

The Parkersburg Narcotics Task Force is comprised of officers from the West Virginia State Police, Parkersburg Police Department, Wood County Sheriff’s Office and the Vienna Police Department.
