Parkersburg residents arrested for selling bath salts

PARKERSBURG – Two Parkersburg residents were arrested on drug charges at the Red Roof Inn on Seventh Street in Parkersburg Wednesday afternoon by the Wood County Sheriff’s Office and the Parkersburg Narcotics Task Force.

Carl Sartor, 32, of 404 Stroehman St., Parkersburg, and Kaitlin Pryor, 18, of 113 Elm Tree Drive, Parkersburg, were arrested by the task force around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday after sheriff’s deputies received a tip the two were allegedly selling bath salts from room 204 at the Red Roof Inn.

Sartor and Pryor were arrested and charged with delivery of a controlled substance and transported to the Wood County Holding Center to await arraignment.

Agents with the task force conducted surveillance operations on the room, officials said. The agents eventually conducted a traffic stop after observing a person leaving the room where the suspected bath salts were being sold, officials said.

After executing a search warrant for the room, task force agents and sheriff’s deputies arrested Sartor and Pryor. Police said Sartor attempted to flee after discovering he was located.

Contraband, including smoking devices, scales, bags of drugs and razor blades, was found in the room, police said.

Officials said a plastic container with suspected bath salts was found on Pryor.
