Five arrested in Parkersburg drug raid

PARKERSBURG – Five people were arrested at a home on 14th Avenue in Parkersburg around 9:30 p.m. Thursday by agents with the Parkersburg Narcotics Task Force.

Brian Keith Wilkinson, 2209 14th Ave., Parkersburg, was arrested on two felony warrants for delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school zone, police reports said. The residence is near Parkersburg South High School, police said.

His arrest was sought by the agents who made other arrests after discovering additional individuals allegedly with illegal substances, officials said.

Brandi Roberts of Parkersburg, Patrick Buskirk of Washington and Austin Schaffer of Pennsboro were arrested for possession of suspected bath salts, officials said. Kenneth Varnado of Parkersburg was arrested on a charge of obstructing.

Agents discovered a dozen people in the home along with glass smoking devices, digital scales and containers of suspected bath salts, officials said.

The individuals were transported to the Wood County Holding Center were they were processed, arraigned and released on bond.

The Parkersburg Violent Crimes and Narcotics Task Force is comprised of officers from the West Virginia State Police, Wood County Sheriff’s Office, Parkersburg Police Department and the Vienna Police Department.
