Circuit court hears cases

PARKERSBURG – Three hearings took place Thursday in Wood County Circuit Court.

* Austin Paul Pulver, 22, in custody at the North Central Regional Jail, was arraigned on a petition to revoke his probation and waived a preliminary hearing. After Pulver admitted to the allegations, Judge Robert Waters sentenced Pulver to four years in prison with 28 days served. A motion to return to parole was denied. He pleaded guilty in January 2011 to a charge of fraudulent use of an access device.

* Robert Lee Mattingly II, 62, 9433 Pleasants Highway, St. Marys, was granted a new trial date. He was indicted by the January 2013 grand jury on a charge of third-offense DUI. His new trial date was set for April 30 before Judge J.D. Beane.

* Kristina R. Burns, 32, 41 Meadowbrook Trailer Park, Parkersburg, was sentenced after her guilty plea to charges of possession of a controlled substance, cocaine; grand larceny and battery. Judge Jeffrey Reed sentenced her to one year in jail each for the possession and battery charges and one to 10 years in prison for the grand larceny charge to be served consecutively with the misdemeanors served first. They were suspended for three years probation.
