Two men facing multiple charges

PARKERSBURG – Wood County sheriff’s deputies arrested two men on warrants for felony and misdemeanor charges around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 2000 block of Larkmead Road, officials said.

Chief Deputy Shawn Graham with the sheriff’s office said the two males were arrested on the same call to police.

Jamey Joe Friend, 35, Virginia Beach, Va., was arrested on more than 70 charges out of Shenandoah County, Virginia, police said.

Friend was wanted for two felony counts of entering a building at night, 29 felony counts of entering a structure to commit assault and battery, five counts of felony grand larceny, four counts of felony possession of stolen property with the intent to sell and 29 misdemeanor counts of destruction of property with the intent to commit larceny.

According to court records, Friend was arraigned in Wood County Magistrate Court and confined to the North Central Regional Jail pending a hearing in circuit court to answer to his fugitive from justice charge. He is listed as a pre-trial felon and his bond is $25,000 for the non-fugitive charges, records showed.

Dennis Charles Crockett, 35, 145 Rake Road, Whipple, was arrested on charges of conspiracy to commit petit larceny, driving on a suspended license and having no insurance.

Crockett was arraigned in Wood County Magistrate Court and released on $800 bond, according to records.
